Q4 WWF Newsletter
by Jim Hopkins, Past President and WWF Board Member
A successful year has come to an end, and another has begun! There is much to report.
It is late January as we reflect on our 2025 results. We are grateful that our supporters increased and that, as a result, we have expanded support for those who find self-awareness, grow in environmental appreciation, and enjoy life changing experiences in the wilderness.
During this year as our number of donors grew, we funded eight organizations. Here are four examples.
Wild Hearts Idaho: On outdoor adventures girls learn leadership, self-confidence and outdoor skills.
Wilderness Journeys: “In the wilderness we find a part of ourselves and our sense of faith/spirituality.” Leading hikes across the United States.
City Kids Wilderness Project – Washington, DC: Delivers transformative outdoor experiences for 6th to 12th grade students.
Everyone Outside - Connecticut: People of all ages learn about and appreciate their natural environment.
And we donated $50 each to twelve organizations of indigenous people on whose lands Wilderness Journeys trekked, a practice we began three years ago.
We are grateful that the support of our mission is growing. We hope that our readers will continue to think favorably about our work. Giving is easy when one visits the Wilderness Ways Foundation website.
I am pleased to announce that Christoff Polagnoli, a Board Member, became our President in January. His life experiences bring extensive skill and talent to our leadership team. He is a graduate of Vienna University of Economics and Business, a Back Roads Active Adventure trip leader, a USA Banker, and an avid cyclist. He has already contributed to the development of our social media and fundraising programs.
I will continue to serve on our Board supporting Christoff as he leads us to ever deeper and wider progress. The use of video worshops is part of our 2026 plan to expand transformational experiences in the wilderness.
